Most people are familiar with art history; the study of visual human expression over time. The Oxford Museum is giving it a new twist, offering viewers the opportunity to see history through art.   A special exhibit; Paintings from the Oxford Museum’s Permanent Collection, comprised of over 20 pieces from the archives, will be on display May 21 and May 22 at St, Paul’s Church, 225 S. Morris St., Oxford.  Hours are 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday and 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday.  Admission is free.

Featured are both known and unknown artists whose talents captured a range of subject matter relating to Oxford and the surrounding area from portraits of local notables to scenes of special events and daily life in the oldest town on the Eastern Shore. The public is invited to enjoy the art while learning more about the history of this unique village.

Happening the same weekend, is the Oxford Fine Arts held at the Oxford Community Center. Don’t miss this exclusive exhibit and sale which will be open from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday and 10 am- 4 pm on Sunday. Admission is $7.00
