Vibrio bacteria: Everything you didn’t want to know, but probably should

Vibrio is a genus of naturally occurring aquatic bacteria found in many regions of the world, including the Chesapeake Bay. Several species of Vibrio can cause illness in humans including gastroenteritis and necrotizing fasciitis – “Waterman’s Disease.”
