This is the official committee behind the Maryland Heritage Area Authority “Stories of the Chesapeake” grant project entitled, “Building Community & Preserving History, The Oxford Community Center”. The project consists of a documentary and exhibit installation of how the building was saved from demolition by the heartfelt determination of the residents of Oxford in 1980. It continues the timeline to celebrate the renovations finished June 24, 2012.

Lester Wilson received the “Loyalty and Longevity” award for being the longest and most beloved staff member of the OCC for 38 years. His wife Barbara served on the Board and their family are an integral part of OCC’s operations.

Senator Richard Colburn, Commissioner Jimmy Jaramillo, Liza Ledford and Delegate Johnny Mautz.  Johnny, House Chair, presented the Center with an Official Citation from the Maryland General Assembly for “providing an exceptional gathering space and excellent programming for Talbot County residents and the Oxford Community”.
